Friends, EMS and Valley Hospital Team Up to Save Heart Attack Victim ...

Joe Patren, 53, was enjoying a round of golf with his friends this past May when he lost consciousness. It turned out to be a serious heart attack. "One minute I was golfing," Patren says. "The next thing I remember was waking up in the hospital a week later."

When the heart attack occurred, Patren's friends jumped into action: one started cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) while the other called 9-1-1.
