New Patient Tower Nearing Completion

Summerlin HospitalConstruction on the new patient tower at Summerlin Hospital is almost complete!

The new tower will add 174 private patient rooms, bringing the total number of rooms at the hospital to 455. The expansion includes more labor and delivery and recovery suites, antepartum and postpartum suites and new beds in a number of key areas, including neonatal intensive care, critical care, medical/telemetry and postsurgery.

The new six-story patient tower is the third and final phase of the hospital's $100 million expansion project, which includes two new parking structures, an expanded Emergency Room (ER) and a new Pediatric ER. Completion is expected at the end of the year, with an anticipated opening in January 2010 (pending state licensure and approvals).

Hugs from Home

Summerlin Hospital employees have been showing their patriotic spirit through the Hugs from Home program. The hospital-sponsored program invites employees to donate items to Nevada National Guard troops who have been deployed to Afghanistan. To date, more than 15 Hugs from Home care packages have been sent to troops.
