New Patient Tower Nearing Completion
Construction on the new patient tower at Summerlin Hospital is almost complete!
The new tower will add 174 private patient rooms, bringing the total number of rooms at the hospital to 455. The expansion includes more labor and delivery and recovery suites, antepartum and postpartum suites and new beds in a number of key areas, including neonatal intensive care, critical care, medical/telemetry and postsurgery.
The new six-story patient tower is the third and final phase of the hospital's $100 million expansion project, which includes two new parking structures, an expanded Emergency Room (ER) and a new Pediatric ER. Completion is expected at the end of the year, with an anticipated opening in January 2010 (pending state licensure and approvals).
