Level III NICU Opens, Special Care Nursery Expands

Two babies in pea podsOn Aug. 27, Spring Valley Hospital received certification from the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services to open its new, 18-bed Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and a 9-bed Level II Special Care Nursery (formerly 6 beds).

The NICU features advanced medical technology and trained hospital staff members to care for babies who are born prematurely or with life-threatening conditions. The NICU includes six private rooms with scenic views, each with a sleeper/recliner and flat-screen TV. It also offers a large parent sleep room with a pull-out sofa for families with special circumstances so they can stay in the room with their newborns. The healthcare team is comprised of a wide range of specialty physicians who are board certified to care for newborns requiring NICU services.

Spring Valley is the only hospital in southwest Las Vegas with a Level III NICU.

Spring Valley Hospital Celebrates Six-Year Anniversary

On Oct. 2, Spring Valley Hospital Medical Center celebrated its six-year anniversary with its employees and community. In addition to being a proud community partner, the hospital provided the following healthcare services:
