Registration Even Faster?

Couple using laptopIf you're scheduled for surgery or other procedures at one of The Valley Health System's hospitals, registering is now quicker and easier than ever! Thank REGIESM -- our Request for Preregistration via Email-Generated Information Exchange. By using this innovative Web-based service, you'll have less paperwork to fill out at the hospital, you'll spend less time in the admitting or registration area and you'll have fewer questions to answer upon arrival.

Three to five days before you arrive at the hospital, you or a representative from your doctor's office can use REGIE to request services. These include scheduled outpatient surgery, designated diagnostic tests, inpatient admission or unscheduled routine outpatient laboratory tests and X-rays.

Here's how it works. Be sure to have your insurance card and doctor's order handy!

  1. Start by visiting our Web site at www.IchooseValleyHealthSystem.com. In the left column, click on Hospitals, then on the VHS hospital nearest you. At the following page, click the Enter REGIE link.
  2. If necessary, create a new account. Please choose a password of at least eight characters with at least one capital letter and number.
  3. Continue filling out our Web-based form. REGIE will ask for physician information, specifics on the type of healthcare service you'd like to register for, admission date/time and other data. The process takes about 15 minutes.

If any information is incomplete, a clerk will call you. If your health insurer requires precertification, a preregistration clerk also will take care of that.

On the day of your procedure, give your name in the registration lobby. If your name is on the preregistration list, you won't have to wait as long. A registrar will take a copy of your doctor's order and ask you to sign some forms to validate your documents. Then, thanks to REGIE, you'll be on your way.
