You don’t have to wait in the main registration area when you’re having diagnostic tests at Spring Valley Hospital Medical Center. The hospital has a new process in place that takes the hassle out of registering for diagnostic tests and procedures.

The Radiology staff now register patients by phone when they call to schedule procedures. If patients’ insurance coverage requires preauthorization, staff obtain the authorization and call patients back to complete their registration before their scheduled testing. On the day patients have their diagnostic tests, they bypass the traditional registration process, go directly to Radiology and have their procedures.

“We developed this process to improve patient satisfaction and enhance their experience at the hospital. It’s already making a difference,” said Becky Christensen, RT(R)(M)(CT), Imaging Services Manager at Spring Valley Hospital. “Patients say the process saves them time by allowing them to get in and out of the hospital quickly.”
