"Many of our patients are very ill and very weak," says Tony Chin, MD, Medical Director of Valley Hospital's Acute Rehabilitation Program. "Our goal is to provide the individualized and intensive rehabilitation services that patients need to reach their full potential." A dedicated team of registered nurses; physical, occupational and speech therapists; a dietitian; and a social worker provide acute rehabilitation care seven days a week to patients with a host of neurological and orthopedic conditions. Patients stay an average of 12 days in the unit, and care often continues after patients are discharged. Some patients receive nursing, therapy and other healthcare services in their homes through Valley Home Health. The hospital also offers outpatient rehabilitation services.
