What's New at Spring Valley Hospital?
Special Care for Babies With Special Needs and Much More

Photo of Medical Office Building
We're continuing to grow with our community. Spring Valley Hospital Medical Center has recently received state certification to open a Level II Nursery in The Maternity Center. This six-bed nursery provides care for newborns with special needs, such as breathing assistance and blood sugar monitoring. Premature and low birth weight babies also can be cared for at the Level II Nursery.

Being able to provide complete care is our primary goal. By offering Level II Nursery services at Spring Valley Hospital, infants will not have to be transferred to another facility. Some infants may have a short visit while others may stay in the nursery for several weeks. Either way, the compassionate, experienced nurses will do everything possible to help ensure comfort for baby and family.

Parents also are provided special care education by our nurses and staff neonatologists. Family members can learn alongside our healthcare professionals about proper techniques to feed and monitor their new baby.

To tour The Maternity Center or register for childbirth education, please call 853-3071.

New diagnostic procedure added
Spring Valley Hospital has added diagnostic cardiac catheterization to its services. This diagnostic test determines whether a blockage exists in a patient's coronary arteries. A thin tube called a catheter is inserted into an artery or vein of an arm or leg and advanced into the chambers of the heart. In addition to cardiology services, Spring Valley Hospital provides other diagnostic services, including CT scanning, digital imaging, mammography and the latest technology in MRI.

Spring Valley Medical Center now open
Located on the hospital campus is the new Spring Valley Medical Center, a three-story facility consisting of more than 57,000 square feet of space. Each of the 20 professional suites was specially designed to accommodate the individual needs of the physician. Many suites in the medical center feature beautiful strip and mountain views.

To quickly locate any physician office, visitors can use a touch screen directory located in the main lobby. Many of these physicians are accepting appointments to see patients. Physicians in the medical center practice family and internal medicine and specialize in obstetrics, gynecology, urology and general surgery. Quest Diagnostics also will be located in the medical center, so patients can obtain blood and other lab tests without leaving the building.

Medical center visitors can conveniently access the hospital through an indoor scenic walkway that connects the two buildings. This allows easy access for physicians to visit and treat patients staying at Spring Valley Hospital. This accessibility also is extended to patients, who can walk to the hospital to register and obtain outpatient diagnostic tests.

With more than 900 parking spaces on campus, Spring Valley Medical Center visitors are provided with ample parking close by. To meet the growing needs of our community, a second building already is in the planning stages. It will be filled with more medical specialties, including cardiology.
