First AMIS Procedure in the U.S.

The minimally invasive hip replacement surgery did not require muscle cuts.

Dr. Todd Swanson performed anterior minimally invasive surgery (AMIS) with mobile leg positioning for the first time in the U.S. at Centennial Hills Hospital on Monday, March 10. AMIS is a minimally invasive hip replacement performed without cutting muscle.

First Baby Delivery
At 9:04 PM on Friday, January 25, Dr. Henry Luh delivered the hospital's first newborn -- Zeniah Kawehlani "Centennial" Sauvao. Along with her parents, Terina and Iese Sauvao, Zeniah received a basket of supplies and gifts, mostly donated by Babies 'R' Us; a handmade blanket made by a nurse; a $100 EE Savings Bond from Bank of Nevada; and a digital camera from Centennial Academy.
