Emergency Department
Expansion

Photo of Emergency Department Expansion
Construction on phase one of Summerlin Hospital's Emergency Department (ED) expansion is now complete. The space includes new private patient care areas along with vibrantly colored walls and individual television sets -- all designed to offer patients a more comfortable and private environment. Phase two of the expansion is under way and will include a complete redesign of the old ED area. The project is scheduled for completion in late 2008.

Cardiac Ultrasound Technology
Summerlin Hospital's Electrophysiology Lab now offers advanced cardiac ultrasound technology known as Intracoronary Vessel Echoes (ICE). ICE allows for intercardiac (chambers and walls of the heart) echo imaging that enhances cardiac images, allowing physicians to pinpoint the exact location and placement of catheters when treating cardiac rhythm abnormalities.
