Neonatal ICU Expansion
Spring Valley Hospital Medical Center held a groundbreaking ceremony on April 4 to commemorate the start of a $9 million expansion project, which will add a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) to its campus.

The Level III NICU will have 18 beds and extend from the existing six-bed Level II Special Care Nursery, where three more Level II beds will be added. The NICU will feature the advanced medical technology and experienced nursing staff necessary to care for babies who are born extremely premature or with life-threatening conditions.

The construction should be completed first quarter 2009, with services being offered to the community upon receipt of certification from the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services, Bureau of Licensure and Certification.
