Summer Travel Tips

Photo of family in trunk of car

You've packed your favorite summer outfits, your iPod® and a good book. Travel reservations and directions are safely tucked away in your bag. What could you have possibly forgotten for your vacation?

A bag or folder that contains important information about your health needs including:

  • Copy of your driver's license
  • Proof of insurance and an insurance contact phone number
  • Copy of your living will or advance directives
  • List of medications and the dosages you are currently taking
  • Information about any current or chronic illnesses
  • Phone numbers with area codes of your family doctor, medical specialists and local pharmacy
  • Phone numbers with area codes of family or friends who may need to be contacted

Packing a few extra items can make the difference in a medical emergency.
