Centennial Hills Hospital Medical Center has yet to open its doors, but Toni Williams, RN, MSN, the Director of Women's Services, is already hard at work hiring staff and getting her unit ready to care for patients.

"With opening a new hospital, we have a unique opportunity to raise the bar on medical care and service excellence -- and that's what we're going to do," Williams says. "We're creating an environment that will allow us to focus on high-quality, safe care and customer service."

Along with caring for women, the Women's Center will offer maternity services, with six labor, delivery and recovery rooms; a 25-bed postpartum unit and a newborn nursery. In the near future, the Center plans to add a six-bed Level II neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).

"Having a baby is a special time for families," Williams says. "We're going to do all we can to make sure local parents have a positive experience as they welcome the newest members of their families into the world."

Williams received her bachelor's and master's degrees from the Indiana School of Nursing. She has been a nurse for 11 years, spending most of her career caring for women with high-risk pregnancies. Her passion is mentoring nurses and staff and encouraging them to be the best they can be.

Williams, who was working in a similar position at Lancaster Medical Center in Texas when she accepted this opportunity, recently moved to Centennial Hills and says the hospital will be reflective of the community.

"Centennial Hills is a great place for families," she says. "People are friendly and helpful, and we'll be treating our patients the same way. We'll be taking care of our neighbors."
